This week, MouseMesh has dispatched 1,000 PestBrick units to three UK colleges, supporting hands-on construction training with real, industry-ready products.
At MouseMesh, we believe innovation should do more than solve problems, it should support the people who build our industry. This week, we have taken a practical step towards that by dispatching 1,000 of our patented PestBrick units to three UK colleges: Capital City College, Barnet and Southgate College, and BCC UK College.
This is not a future plan or a concept, it’s happening now. As shown in our dispatch this week, PestBricks are packed and leaving our facility, ready to move from our premises into real training environments.
This initiative reflects a simple but important idea: students should train with the kinds of products they will actually encounter on-site. By introducing PestBrick into college courses, we are helping bridge the gap between traditional training and modern construction practice.
Why PestBrick?
Pest ingress remains a persistent issue within cavity walls across the built environment. PestBrick has been developed to address this directly—integrating pest control into the structure itself, rather than relying on afterthought solutions.
For students, this creates a more realistic learning experience. They are not just laying standard bricks, they are working with a product designed to solve a genuine, ongoing challenge within construction.

Learning That Reflects the Real World
Bricklaying is a craft built on accuracy, consistency, and experience. By incorporating PestBrick into their training, students gain exposure to:
- Modern construction products used in real projects
- The integration of innovation into traditional methods
- Practical problem-solving within building design
- Confidence working with materials they are likely to encounter on-site
At MouseMesh, we believe education should reflect the realities of the industry. Supporting colleges in this way helps ensure students are better prepared, more adaptable, and ready to contribute from day one.
Early Engagement from Colleges
Even before delivery, we have seen strong engagement from Curriculum Managers across all three colleges. There is clear enthusiasm to introduce PestBrick into training programmes and give students hands-on experience with products that go beyond the standard curriculum.
That early response reinforces what we already believe, there is real value in connecting manufacturers with education.
Our Ethos in Action
Our approach is straightforward: protect buildings, support people, and innovate with purpose.
This initiative brings those principles together. We are not just developing products, we are investing in the next generation of trades people who will use them. By working alongside colleges, we are contributing to higher standards across the industry and supporting a more informed, capable workforce.
From Dispatch to the Classroom
With PestBricks now leaving our facility, this is just the start. Over the coming months, they will move into workshops, lessons, and hands-on training environments.
We will continue to share updates as this develops, following the journey from dispatch through to real use within education.
For us, this isn’t a one-off gesture. It is part of a wider commitment to ensuring innovation reaches the people who matter most: those building the future of the industry.
